Bengaluru Airport City Limited (BACL) and AeroNero are partnering to establish the AeroNero Innovation Hub at Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport). This hub will serve as a research and development center showcasing AeroNero's air-to-water generation technologies, which extract potable water from ambient air using condensation and desiccation technologies, coupled with renewable energy systems and AI-enabled analytics. The initiative aims to accelerate the deployment and validation of low-carbon water solutions.
BACL intends to create a global benchmark for sustainable and smart urban ecosystems, aligning with AeroNero's focus on technology and sustainability. Hosting the Innovation Hub allows BACL to showcase climate-smart water technologies to both the corporate community and travelers. The hub will also function as a stakeholder engagement center, bringing together corporates, government, academia, and research partners to scale sustainable water solutions.
BLR Airport has already achieved milestones in sustainability, including being water positive, using 100% renewable energy, and banning single-use plastics. The AeroNero Innovation Hub will bridge lab-scale breakthroughs with real-world deployment, refining products and demonstrating contributions to water security and Net Zero goals.
