Aeva Technologies announced plans to unveil a new 4D LiDAR sensor and demonstrate its Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) perception platform at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, scheduled for January 6-9. The company is expanding its portfolio with a new 4D LiDAR sensor designed specifically for advanced sensing and perception capabilities across robotics, automotive, and smart infrastructure, supporting a wider range of automation and Physical AI applications beyond traditional long-range automotive sensing.

A key highlight of the showcase will be a live demonstration featuring the Aeva Atlas 4D LiDAR sensor integrated behind the windshield of a passenger OEM vehicle. This integration demonstrates Aeva's commitment to enabling Level 3 automated driving capabilities at highway speeds. Furthermore, Aeva will display a next-generation integration design utilizing the slim Atlas Ultra sensor combined with automotive-grade cameras behind a specialized windshield co-developed with Wideye by AGC, designed to meet stringent OEM requirements for compact packaging and sensor fusion.

Crucially for the transport sector, Aeva will showcase its expanding 4D LiDAR solutions for smart infrastructure. This technology is aimed at enhancing next-generation traffic management, powering advanced rail automation, and enabling real-time airport situational awareness. By simultaneously detecting range and velocity for every point—a key advantage over conventional 3D Time-of-Flight systems—Aeva's FMCW technology is advancing safer, more efficient mobility across critical public environments, including aviation. The company will also highlight its Eve precision sensing portfolio for industrial and factory automation, offering sub-micron accuracy for quality control in high-volume manufacturing.
