Air India Express: New flights to operate from Navi Mumbai airport from December 25; see full schedule

Air India Express is set to become the inaugural commercial airline operating from the new Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), commencing services on December 25, 2025. This strategic move marks a significant expansion for the airline and a critical milestone for India's aviation infrastructure, as NMIA prepares to alleviate congestion at Mumbai's existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

Initially, Air India Express will offer daily flights from Navi Mumbai to Bengaluru and five weekly flights to Delhi. This connectivity to two of India's major aviation hubs underscores the airline's commitment to enhancing regional access. The airline has confirmed that bookings for these new routes are officially open, providing travelers with immediate access to the new airport's services.

Further expansion is planned for the new year, with flight frequencies on both the Bengaluru and Delhi routes doubling to twice daily starting January 1, 2026. This increase in capacity aims to offer passengers greater flexibility with both morning and evening departure options, while also working to reduce overall congestion on the high-demand Bengaluru-Delhi corridor. Alok Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, expressed enthusiasm for the airline's participation in NMIA's launch, highlighting the airport's potential to significantly boost aviation capacity for Mumbai and its surrounding regions, thereby stimulating new travel growth.

This launch aligns with Air India Express's broader strategy of rapid network expansion across Maharashtra and India. The airline currently operates over 130 weekly flights from Mumbai and 90+ from Pune, with additional services like twice-daily flights from Nagpur to Bengaluru commencing December 1, 2025. Bengaluru has emerged as Air India Express's fastest-growing hub, now supporting over 530 weekly flights, including new domestic connections to cities like Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jodhpur, and Udaipur, alongside direct international services to Bangkok, Jeddah, Kuwait, and Riyadh. The integration of NMIA into its network further solidifies Air India Express's position as a key player in India's burgeoning aviation market.
