Airbus, a global aerospace leader, and Ingenium – Canada's Museums of Science and Innovation, announced a new partnership on December 15, 2025, to establish an Aerospace Innovation Lab. Located at Ingenium's Canada Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa, Ontario, this collaboration aims to inspire and empower the next generation of Canadian aerospace innovators through hands-on, experiential learning opportunities.

The core of this initiative is the development of a Simulation Training and Research (S.T.a.R.) Lab. This flexible, creative space is designed to spark innovation and practical skill development among youth. A pilot mentorship program will see college students lead the design and testing of a gamified simulation experience in collaboration with secondary students. Industry experts will guide this work, ensuring the creation of authentic digital learning tools for visiting school groups and the public.

Airbus is providing crucial support for the S.T.a.R. Lab, reinforcing its deep commitment to Canadian industry, where it employs over 5,000 people and manufactures the A220 commercial aircraft. Guillaume Chevasson, CEO Airbus in Canada, highlighted the partnership as an investment in youth, providing essential skills and mentorship. Chris Kitzan, Director General at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, emphasized Ingenium's dedication to fostering curiosity, creativity, and connecting youth with science and technology through innovative learning spaces.
