Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) promptly initiated comprehensive technical inspections across its entire Airbus fleet in response to urgent directives issued by the aircraft manufacturer. These directives followed the detection of malfunctions within the flight control systems of Airbus A320 family aircraft, which Airbus attributed to potential interference from strong solar radiation impacting critical flight control data.

During these thorough inspections, three specific aircraft were identified as requiring immediate corrective measures. In adherence to Airbus's recommendations, the flight control software on these affected planes was reverted to a previously stable version. AZAL confirmed that all identified technical issues were swiftly and fully resolved, ensuring that its entire fleet is now operating under standard conditions. The airline emphasized its unwavering commitment to flight safety, stating that all operations align strictly with manufacturer requirements and international civil aviation standards.

The global Airbus recall, prompted by incidents where intense solar activity disrupted flight control systems leading to potential unexpected trajectory changes without crew input, affects approximately 6,000 aircraft worldwide. This figure represents more than half of the operational A320 family aircraft globally, underscoring the widespread impact of the manufacturer's urgent software update and guidance for operators.
