China Aircraft Leasing Expands Fleet with New Airbus A320neo Family Order
China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) finalized an order for 30 Airbus A320neo Family jets, boosting its fleet and supporting the narrowbody market.

Key Points

  • 1China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) placed a firm order for 30 additional Airbus A320neo Family aircraft near the end of 2025.
  • 2The new narrowbody jets are scheduled for delivery in phases through 2033, supporting CALC's global fleet expansion.
  • 3The A320neo Family is a key asset, offering at least 20% fuel savings and CO₂ reduction compared to older single-aisle aircraft.

China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC) has placed a firm order for 30 additional Airbus A320neo Family aircraft. This major acquisition supports the lessor’s ongoing CALC fleet expansion strategy. The deal was finalized near the end of December 2025.

This marks the fifth bulk order for aircraft between CALC and the European airframer Airbus. Deliveries of the narrowbody jet order are scheduled to occur in phases. This delivery timeline extends through the year 2033.

Strategic Fleet Modernization

The new commitment reinforces CALC’s confidence in the Airbus A320neo Family aircraft. The China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) aims to satisfy strong demand from its global customer base. The A320neo is a highly sought-after single-aisle jet in the aircraft leasing market.

CALC’s owned fleet is already heavily focused on narrow-body models. This new order brings CALC’s total Airbus aircraft orders to 282. Of that total, 203 are A320neo Family aircraft.

Focus on Efficiency and Sustainability

The A320neo Family is a key choice for fuel-efficient aircraft solutions. It offers at least 20% fuel savings compared to previous generation single-aisle jets. This also results in a significant CO₂ reduction for airline operators.

CALC’s CEO, Mike Poon, highlighted the shared vision for sustainable aviation. The A320 Family is capable of operating with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Airbus is targeting 100% SAF capability by 2030.

Industry Impact and Market Demand

This order underscores the robust post-pandemic recovery. Strong demand for narrowbody aircraft continues globally. The A320 Family is the world’s most popular single-aisle aircraft. It has secured over 19,000 orders globally.

  • Leasing Market Strength: The deal confirms the strength of the China Aircraft Leasing Group as a major global lessor. It provides high-value, modern aircraft to airlines worldwide.
  • Capacity Growth: The new jets will allow CALC to meet the growing need for air travel capacity. This is especially true in the dynamic Asian market.
  • Manufacturer Endorsement: The repeat business is a solid endorsement of the A320neo’s efficiency and versatility. Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus EVP Sales, called CALC a long-time valued partner.

Industry organizations like IATA continue to track the recovery. The need for modern, efficient aircraft remains critical for airlines.
