Guyana's aviation and service sectors are set for a technological upgrade as GuyDrones, Roraima Airways, and Air Dash formalize a partnership to launch a drone-enabled delivery network. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) marks the beginning of the “Drone Dash” initiative, which seeks to leverage unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to enhance the transportation of essential goods throughout Guyana. The agreement was formalized at the Roraima Airways terminal at the Eugene F. Correia International Airport.
The collaboration combines GuyDrones’ expertise in UAV technology, Air Dash’s operational capabilities, and Roraima Airways’ extensive aviation experience. This synergy aims to create a modern and efficient delivery system that can serve communities across both coastal and hinterland regions of Guyana. The initiative aligns with the Guyanese Government's vision for expanding new technologies and infrastructure to improve connectivity and logistics.
Peter Ramsaroop, Chief Investment Officer of Guyana, emphasized the significance of this partnership as a reflection of the innovative drive shaping the nation's future. He highlighted that the initiative supports President Irfaan Ali’s vision for enhancing transport infrastructure, ensuring faster, smarter, and more reliable movement of essential goods. The drone delivery network is expected to complement ongoing efforts to upgrade connections to Brazil, expand infrastructure in Berbice, develop the Wales region, and enhance port facilities.
The launch event was attended by key figures from each company, including Ershad Mahamad, Vice President of GuyDrones; Dennis Dash, CEO of Air Dash; Gerald Gouveia Jr., Director of Roraima Airways; and Rowan Singh, Country Manager and UAV Pilot of GuyDrones. This collaborative effort signals a significant step towards modernizing Guyana's logistics and transportation sector, with potential benefits for remote communities and the overall economy.
