Nadine Nugent, 35, from Belfast, is facing seven charges in connection with an easyJet flight from Belfast International Airport to Hurghada, Egypt. The charges stem from alleged incidents that occurred during the flight, leading to a court case that has been adjourned to December 23, with a contest listed for January 26 next year. The specific charges against Ms. Nugent include failing to obey a lawful command and behaving in a threatening, abusive, insulting, or disorderly manner towards an aircraft crew member. She is also accused of assaulting three individuals—two females and one male—and making a threat to kill one of the female victims. Additionally, Ms. Nugent faces a charge of entering or being drunk on an aircraft.During proceedings at Antrim Magistrates Court, a defence barrister highlighted that the "majority" of the alleged incidents appeared to have taken place "on the tarmac" at an airport in Egypt. This point was raised to suggest potential "territorial issues" and questions regarding whether the aircraft was under "British control," which could impact jurisdiction. The court was also informed that the defendant is a social worker.
