Embraer is strategically targeting the Indian aviation market, citing significant untapped potential for its E-Jets family. The Brazilian aerospace manufacturer emphasizes the competitive seat costs offered by the E195-E2 aircraft, particularly crucial in India's price-sensitive market. Embraer already has a presence in India with nearly 50 aircraft serving the Indian Air Force, government agencies, business jet operators, and commercial airline Star Air.
Raul Villaron, Senior Vice President - Head of Region for Asia Pacific at Embraer, noted that India's low yields necessitate competitive seat costs for airlines to succeed. The E195-E2, with its high-density seating configuration of up to 146 seats, addresses this need. Embraer also sees opportunities in replacing India's existing turboprop fleet and tapping into underserved markets.
Embraer inaugurated its Delhi office in October, signaling its commitment to strengthening its presence across commercial aviation, defense, business aviation, services and support, and urban air mobility segments in India. This move underscores Embraer's broader strategy to capitalize on the growth potential within the Indian aviation sector. The company views India as a key market in its Asia-Pacific expansion plans.
