Germany-based FAI Aviation Group has cancelled the scheduled air ambulance flight to Dhaka, intended for the medical transfer of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to London. The operator formally withdrew its previously approved landing slot request at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for a Bombardier Challenger 604 (CL60) aircraft.

Officials from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) confirmed the cancellation request, which will now be forwarded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for further processing. The CAAB had initially cleared the aircraft for an 8:00 am arrival and 9:00 pm departure on Tuesday, December 9th.

The medical evacuation aircraft was chartered by the Qatar government from FAI Aviation Group, a globally recognized provider of air-ambulance services. Khaleda Zia has been receiving treatment for multiple health complications at Dhaka's Evercare Hospital since November 23.
