Singapore Changi Airport (Changi Airport Group) achieved an all-time high in 2025.
The airport recorded 69.98 million passenger movements for the year. This figure represents a 3.4 percent increase compared to 2024 traffic. The Changi Airport Group (CAG) announced the results on Thursday.
India and Asia Drive Record Passenger Traffic
India has been confirmed as a key contributor to this growth. It ranked among Changi Airport’s top five passenger markets for 2025. This strong performance highlights India’s growing importance to the Southeast Asian air hub. The top five passenger markets overall were China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and India. China remained the largest traffic market, posting the strongest growth in passenger movements.
Traffic growth in 2025 was broad-based across all regions. This was supported by steady Asia travel demand and expanded global air hub connectivity. The busiest month of the year was December 2025, with 6.3 million passenger movements. The single busiest day was December 20, the Saturday before Christmas. More than 223,000 passengers passed through Changi’s terminals that day.
Network Expansion and New Destinations
Changi Airport achieved a record year for network growth in 2025. CAG added 13 new city links to its global footprint. This expansion included Vijayawada (India) as a new destination. Other new links included cities in China, Indonesia, and Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia. The addition of Ulaanbaatar marked Singapore’s first direct connection to Mongolia.
CAG CEO Yam Kum Weng noted the strong performance despite a “volatile global environment.” The airport is actively seeking to expand its network further in Asia. This includes targeting emerging secondary cities with promising economic and tourism developments.
Robust Air Cargo Performance
Airfreight throughput also saw a strong performance in 2025. The total reached 2.08 million tonnes, a 4.5 percent increase year-on-year. This result marks one of the best cargo performances in Changi Airport’s history. The growth was seen across exports, imports, and transshipments.
India was also a significant player in the Changi air cargo markets. The top five air cargo markets for 2025 were China, the United States of America, Australia, Hong Kong, and India. The cargo growth was partly attributed to strong global demand for semiconductors. Aircraft movements, including landings and take-offs, rose by 2.2 percent to 374,000 movements.
As of January 2026, about 100 airlines operate at Changi Airport. They offer more than 7,300 weekly scheduled flights. This connects Singapore to over 170 cities worldwide. CAG plans to continue enhancing the traveler experience through innovation.
