JetBlue has unveiled its newest JetBlue special livery aircraft. The Airbus A320, registered N537JT, is named "Wicked Blue." This design pays tribute to the city of Boston. The airline has proudly served this market for over 20 years.
"Wicked Blue embodies our pride in the Boston community," said JetBlue President Marty St. George. He noted Boston is a key driver for the JetForward strategy. This strategy focuses on offering the best East Coast leisure network. The new livery thanks loyal Boston customers for their support.
A Visual Tribute to Boston Roots
The name "Wicked Blue" is a nod to New England slang for "extremely". The Wicked Blue Airbus A320 features a bold "BOSTON" postcard design. Illustrations fill each letter, highlighting city landmarks.
Key Livery Details
- The tail features a postcard stamp marking JetBlue's first Boston revenue flight.
- Illustrations include the Zakim Bridge and the Paul Revere statue.
- Other symbols are a classic Boston lobster and the State House's golden dome.
- The design also features the iconic "Rainbow Swash" mural.
This aircraft joins other special liveries honoring Boston sports teams. These include tributes to the Bruins, Celtics, and Red Sox.
Expanding the Transatlantic Gateway
JetBlue launched service at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) in 2004. The airline remains the city's leading leisure carrier. It offers the most mainline seats and flights from Boston. Data shows JetBlue held a significant 25% passenger share in 2024. This makes it a top competitor at the busy airport.
Boston is now being positioned as JetBlue's primary transatlantic gateway expansion. Nearly two-thirds of the airline's European capacity will originate from BOS. This is a major shift in the airline focus city strategy.
New International Routes and Amenities
Service from Logan continues to expand globally. The airline announced new nonstop service to two European cities.
- Daily seasonal service to Barcelona (BCN) starts April 16, 2026.
- Daily seasonal service to Milan (MXP) starts May 11, 2026.
These routes will use Airbus A321 aircraft with the Mint premium experience. For premium customers, the second BlueHouse™ lounge will open in Terminal C in 2026. This new lounge will offer a retreat for TrueBlue Mosaic™ members. This move highlights the strategic importance of Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) for future JetBlue growth and its JetBlue Boston roots.
