Ryanair has announced two new flight routes from Glasgow Airport for its summer 2026 schedule, significantly expanding connectivity. The Irish low-cost carrier will introduce a twice-daily service to London Stansted and a new route to Warsaw, Poland. This expansion is part of Ryanair's record Glasgow summer schedule, which will feature over 100 weekly flights across eight routes, adding 200,000 more seats to and from Glasgow. AGS Airports' Aero Director, Chris Tibbett, highlighted that the London Stansted route enhances Glasgow's access to five London airports, catering to both business travelers and holidaymakers, while the Warsaw route broadens international travel options.
Concurrently, Aer Lingus has revealed a new transatlantic service connecting Glasgow Airport to Pittsburgh, USA, via its Dublin hub. This route offers passengers the advantage of utilizing Dublin's US Customs and Border Protection pre-clearance facility. This allows travelers to complete all immigration and customs procedures before departing Ireland, ensuring they arrive in the United States as domestic passengers for a smoother travel experience.
Pittsburgh International Airport CEO Christina Cassotis emphasized the strong business and ancestral ties between the Pittsburgh region and Ireland, noting the community's long-standing desire for this route. Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer Susanne Carberry underscored the airline's strong partnership with the Pittsburgh Steelers and its position as a leading transatlantic carrier, leveraging its Dublin hub to provide connections to over 30 destinations across Europe and the UK from Pittsburgh.
