Singapore's Changi Airport (SIN) has achieved a significant milestone, reporting a record 57.9 million passengers in the first ten months of 2025. This figure surpasses pre-pandemic levels from 2019 and validates predictions of a robust recovery in global air travel. The airport's October performance alone saw 5.8 million passengers, marking a 3.4% increase year-over-year and solidifying its position as a leading international hub in the post-pandemic era.
Beyond passenger volumes, Changi Airport also demonstrated consistent operational resilience with 31,200 aircraft movements in October, mirroring the previous year's figures. The cumulative aircraft movements for the first ten months of 2025 reached 310,000, exceeding 2024's numbers. This growth is significantly bolstered by rapid network expansion, including Chinese airline Loong Air's new thrice-weekly service to Zhangjiajie, increasing Changi's connectivity to 35 Chinese cities.
Further enhancing its network, Batik Air Malaysia commenced daily flights to Ipoh, Penang, and Subang from December 8, while Batik Air Indonesia and Thai Lion Air relocated operations to Terminal 4 to accommodate rising demand. Budget carrier Scoot also contributes to this expansion with new flights to Labuan Bajo, Medan, Palembang, and Semarang launching between December and February. Currently, approximately 100 airlines operate 7,000 weekly flights, connecting Singapore to over 160 global cities. Changi Airport Group (CAG) projects extending connections to over 200 cities by the mid-2030s, coinciding with the completion of the massive Terminal 5 project. Cargo volumes also remained strong, with 182,000 tonnes handled in October, an increase from the 178,000 tonnes recorded a year prior.
