Haitian carrier Sunrise Airways has announced the introduction of new direct flights connecting Cap-Haïtien International Airport (CAP) in Haiti with Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) in Florida, USA. This new service is scheduled to commence on December 15, 2025, operating three times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The route will be serviced by Airbus A320 aircraft, configured in a single-class cabin with a maximum capacity for 179 passengers. Flights from Cap-Haïtien (S6 612) will depart at 10:00 a.m. and arrive in Fort Lauderdale at 12:00 p.m., while return flights from Fort Lauderdale (S6 611) will depart at 1:15 p.m. and arrive in Cap-Haïtien at 3:15 p.m.
The addition of Fort Lauderdale marks a significant expansion for Sunrise Airways, establishing it as the airline's second destination in Florida. This follows the successful launch of daily flights to Miami in October 2023. Gary Stone, the incoming CEO of Sunrise Airways, set to assume his role in June 2026, emphasized the strategic importance of this new route, stating, "The addition of Fort Lauderdale to our network creates an attractive and convenient alternative for connecting Haiti and South Florida."
This expansion aims to provide increased connectivity and convenience for passengers traveling between Haiti and the South Florida region. Bookings for the new Cap-Haïtien to Fort Lauderdale service are available through the airline's official website.
