Air India Express has introduced a new Boeing 737-8 aircraft, VT-BWD, featuring a distinctive Tsüngkotepsü livery inspired by the Ao tribe's iconic warrior shawl from Nagaland, India. The aircraft's arrival at Dimapur Airport was marked by a vibrant welcome ceremony led by Nagaland's Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, signifying the airline's role as the official travel partner for the upcoming Hornbill Festival 2025. This initiative underscores Air India Express's commitment to celebrating India's diverse cultural heritage through its 'Tales of India' program, which adorns aircraft tails with regional art.

The partnership aims to significantly boost tourism and cultural understanding during the Hornbill Festival, known as the 'Festival of Festivals,' which draws visitors globally to Nagaland from December 1-10 annually. Chief Minister Rio emphasized that the new livery not only honors the Ao tribe's artistic legacy but also carries a piece of Nagaland's story across India, inviting more visitors to experience the state's rich traditions. Air India Express Managing Director Aloke Singh affirmed the airline's pride in supporting Nagaland's signature celebration, aligning the Hornbill spirit with the airline's broader cultural promotion efforts.

To encourage travel, Air India Express is offering a 15 percent discount on flights to and from Dimapur for bookings made until December 10, utilizing a specific promo code. The airline has also enhanced the passenger experience on its Boeing 737-8 fleet with upgraded seats, USB charging ports, improved lighting, and hot meal capabilities. Air India Express maintains an extensive network across Northeast India, operating daily services connecting Dimapur to major cities like Guwahati, Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Patna, thereby strengthening regional access and connectivity.
