Nigerian President Bola Tinubu commenced an official visit to Borno State by inaugurating the Terminal Extension of the upgraded international wing at Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, Maiduguri. Arriving aboard a Nigerian Air Force aircraft (5N-FGA) at 1 p.m., the President proceeded directly to the facility to cut the tape and unveil the commemorative plaque, marking the official opening of the expanded terminal infrastructure.
The President’s delegation included several high-profile officials, notably the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Alhaji Abubakar Kyari. Governors from Borno, Adamawa, Gombe, Taraba, Katsina, and Delta states were present at the airport to receive the presidential party, underscoring the regional significance of the visit.
Following the airport ceremony, President Tinubu proceeded with Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum to inaugurate several other state-procured projects. These included new educational facilities, such as the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Government Day Secondary School, and a fleet of electric vehicles, taxis, and tricycles aimed at improving local transportation and sustainability efforts.
