Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) Director General Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed has mandated the immediate removal of all outdated promotional content across the nation's airports to ensure travelers receive accurate and current information. Speaking during an e-Kacheri session focused on enhancing passenger services, AVM Saeed also announced a significant infrastructure development: the new General Aviation Aerodrome in Lahore’s Muridke area is scheduled to become operational in early 2026. This modern facility is designed to bolster pilot training programs and support regional aviation sector growth.
In operational matters, the DG PAA confirmed that the ongoing recruitment process, supported by the Civil Aviation Training Institute, will soon be finalized to address staffing requirements at various facilities. Furthermore, AVM Saeed directed a comprehensive safety review of the functionary parking area at Islamabad Airport. Addressing recurring passenger grievances, the PAA chief stated that complaints regarding delayed or damaged baggage would be "firmly taken up" with the responsible airlines, emphasizing that aggressive behavior by airline staff is unacceptable. He also reiterated that security screening remains mandatory and non-discriminatory for all passengers.
The PAA is also moving forward with regulatory updates, disclosing that a policy governing civilian drone use has been finalized. Consultations are currently underway to establish registration and tracking mechanisms for unmanned aerial vehicles. Infrastructure development is progressing elsewhere, with officials confirming that runway improvements and other upgradation work are currently in progress at Dera Ghazi Khan Airport.
