Saudia, the flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has introduced an innovative subscription service called "Flight Pass," designed to offer travelers predictable and cost-efficient domestic air travel. Developed in collaboration with the Saudi Tourism Authority, this new program allows passengers to lock in fares for a set number of flights over a 12-month period, effectively shielding them from potential price increases. This strategic move aims to enhance travel predictability and affordability for frequent flyers within Saudi Arabia.
The Flight Pass offers various bundles, allowing customers to subscribe to 8, 16, or 24 basic economy domestic flights. Subscribers can choose between a single annual payment or a recurring quarterly payment schedule, with prices starting from SAR 349 every three months for the quarterly option. The subscription becomes active upon the first payment, granting access to the chosen number of flights for a full year.
Saudia has integrated robust digital conveniences into the Flight Pass system. All payments are processed through standard digital channels, and the program offers considerable flexibility for travelers. Flights booked under the pass can be changed or canceled, with any refunded amount directly credited back to the subscriber’s Flight Pass balance. This ensures that the value remains within the package, allowing for seamless adjustments to travel plans throughout the subscription's validity.
To protect consumers, Saudia provides a seven-day cancellation window after sign-up, during which subscribers can cancel without penalty, provided no tickets have been issued. Once a ticket is issued, standard terms apply, and the package activates for its full twelve-month duration. This initiative positions Saudia to cater to the growing demand for flexible and budget-friendly domestic travel solutions within Saudi Arabia.
